Los Jaboncillos Ranch: Breeding Excellence and Legacy
Los Jaboncillos Ranch has a rich legacy of breeding top-tier Quarter Horses and cattle. Today, the ranch continues to be a leader in producing high-quality livestock and horses, known internationally for excellence in breeding and performance.
The highlight of our program is Metallic Rey Mink, the 2019 NCHA Open Futurity Champion. "Mink" has brought recognition to the ranch as we are both the breeders and owners of this exceptional stallion. We are proud to announce that "Mink" will be standing to the public at Valley Equine for the 2025 breeding season. Click here to learn more about this incredible stallion.
At the heart of the ranch's breeding program is its distinguished broodmare band, which produces foals sired by some of the most elite stallions in the industry, including DUAL REY, SMOOTH AS A CAT, METALLIC CATT, and THE BOON. These sires contribute to a lineage of horses that excel in performance and pedigree.
In addition to its equine excellence, the ranch markets high-quality replacement cattle, with commercial females crossed to purebred bulls available for private treaty sales.
A Legacy of Ranching in the Wild Horse Desert
The ranch’s history dates back to the early 19th century when the Ramirez family acquired the "Los Jaboncillos" land grant, named after the eastern soapberry trees observed by Spanish explorers. The Seeligson family later acquired this prized land in 1895, expanding their "Galveston Ranch" holdings. Over time, the ranch became renowned for its livestock breeding and hunting opportunities, offering a blend of historical charm and modern ranching innovation.
